Purchase Requests
Teachers have a yearly budget through NEST for classroom supplies. NEST can purchase approved items not covered by the school office. To submit purchase requests, please use the Google form on our website. Diana Martinez is in charge of purchasing your items. You can also email or talk to Diana directly about quantities, links, and special item requests. nestpto@gmail.com
Reimbursement Requests
To submit a reimbursement, please use the Google form on our website (We are no longer using the paper forms from the office). Room parents may also submit reimbursements on behalf of their teachers.
Field Trips
We have a new form to request Field Trip deposits and payments. Sophie Bengstsson is our NEST VP as well as Room Parent and Field Trip Coordinator. If you or your room parents have any questions about field trips, please email her at: sophie.bengtsson@gmail.com.
Gardening
To plan out your gardening needs for the year, please reach out to Daniela Mejia, or have your Gardening Parent contact her with any requests: sparrow.gardencoordinator@gmail.com
FAQS
What items can I NOT get reimbursed for?
Unfortunately, NEST does not provide reimbursements for LiveScan fees, gift cards, gas/mileage, or parking fees. This applies to staff and parents.
If a field trip is canceled, can I tell my parents that NEST will reimburse them?
NEST does not typically do refunds. NEST can, however, apply the amount given for that field trip towards another trip or put those funds towards scholarships for other students in that class.
Can my room parent get reimbursed for items they purchase for the classroom?
Yes we can reimburse your room parents for NEST approved items purchased for your class. Those funds would come out of your class fund. We highly advise that parents use the Purchase Request Form so NEST can purchase the items for the class. In case of a last minute purchase, or second hand purchase, we can reimburse the parents. *Please check with a NEST officer first if there is ever a doubt about who should be paying for a class item.
Who has access to NEST funds?
We budget every year for grades teachers TK-8 and specialty classes (Handwork, Music, Spanish, and Games). We also have additional funds for Gardening and Events. Any special request would need to be discussed, and possibly voted on, by NEST.
